Telecrm Caller LMS
Prerequisites and Setup
In many Indian businesses, sales conversations happen over calls every day — yet there is no record of what was actually discussed. Managers cannot review pitches, customer objections go unnoticed, and coaching the team becomes a guessing game.
That's exactly what telecrm's SIM-based call recording solves.
Every incoming, outgoing, and missed call is automatically recorded and attached directly to the lead inside your CRM — giving you complete visibility into every conversation your team has.
All you need is an Android phone and a corporate SIM. telecrm takes care of everything else.
Now, it's important to understand one thing clearly — telecrm does not record your calls by itself. Call recording is handled by your mobile phone. What telecrm's mobile app does is sync those call logs and recording files directly into your leads inside the CRM. This is why your mobile phone's compatibility plays a crucial role in how this feature works.
With that in mind, let's dive deeper to understand how call logs and call recordings are fetched into telecrm.
Prerequisites:
1 — Phone Compatibility
The very first step is to identify what phone you are using — because everything depends on this.
- If you are on an iPhone, call log syncing and call recording are simply not possible. This is a hard limitation imposed by iOS, and there is no workaround available.
- If you are on an Android phone, you are in the right place. telecrm will definitely be able to sync your call logs. However, whether your call recordings can also be synced depends on your specific Android device and the dialer app it uses.
Now that we have established you are on Android, let's find out whether call recording will work on your specific device.
- The first question is — are you using a Samsung phone?
- If yes, the next thing to check is whether the Samsung Dialer is set as your default dialer. If it is not already the default, you will need to set it as one before proceeding. Once that is in place, call recording can be enabled and you are good to go.
- If you are not on a Samsung phone, the next question is — is Google Dialer your default dialer?
- If it is, you will need to install an app called Odialer from the Google Play Store and set it as your default dialer. If Odialer is not installable on your device, then unfortunately, call recording is not supported.
- If neither Samsung Dialer nor Google Dialer is your default — meaning your phone uses its own built-in OEM dialer — then the key question is whether that dialer supports call recording. If it does, you can move ahead with the setup. If it does not, call recording will not be supported on your device.
In each of these cases, once recording is confirmed to be working, the steps to configure it inside telecrm remain the same — and we will walk you through that next.
Now that you know whether call recording is supported on your device, the next step is to set it up inside telecrm.
Steps of Configuration:
1 — Set Samsung Dialer as Your Default
- The first thing we need to verify is that the Samsung Dialer is set as your default calling app. This is essential — without it, call recording will not work.
- Open your Phone app and check whether it is the default Samsung Dialer. You will recognise it by its standard blue or green Samsung interface.
- Two things to watch out for here — if Truecaller or Google Dialer is currently set as your default, call recording will not sync. You will need to remove them as the default and set Samsung Dialer in their place.
- To set Samsung Dialer as the default, go to your phone's Settings, tap Apps, find your current default calling app, and change it to the Samsung Phone app.
2 — Enable Call Recording in Samsung Dialer
- Open your Phone app. Tap the three dots in the top right corner and go to Settings. From there, open Record Calls.
- Inside this menu, enable the option that says Auto Record Calls or Record All Calls — the exact label may vary slightly depending on your Samsung model, but it will be in this section.
- Once this is turned on, Samsung will automatically record every call made from this device.
3 — Make a Test Call
- This next step is mandatory and must not be skipped.
- After enabling call recording, you need to make at least one outgoing test call. It does not matter who you call — even a one-second call is enough. The reason this is required is that Samsung only creates the call recordings folder on your device after the very first recorded call is made. Without this folder existing, TeleCRM will have nothing to sync from.
- So go ahead, make a quick test call, and confirm that a recording file has been created.
- You can verify this by going to your internal storage, opening the Recordings folder, and checking for a subfolder called Calls. If you see a recording file in there, you are ready for the next step.
4 — Configure the Media Path in telecrm
- Now that the recording file exists on your device, we need to tell telecrm exactly where to find it.
- Open the telecrm app and go to the main menu. Tap on Call Recording — you will find the Media Path option inside it. Alternatively, tap on Call Tracking and then select Media Path.
- Tap Select Folder. Your device's file browser will open. Navigate to the following path — Internal Storage → Recordings → Calls.
- Once you are inside the Calls folder, tap Use This Folder. Your device will then ask for permission to allow telecrm access to this folder — tap Allow to complete the folder selection process.
- You will now be taken back to the telecrm interface with the media path saved.
- At this point, telecrm may ask if you want to sync your older calls. If you would like your past recordings to be attached to your leads as well, go ahead and sync them. After tapping Sync, you will be asked to select the duration for which you want to sync older recordings — we recommend selecting 24 hours to start with. Once you confirm, telecrm will process all your calls from that period, sync the recordings, and update the call count against your leads. If not, simply tap Cancel to move ahead — your new calls will start syncing from this point onwards.
5 — Disable Wi-Fi Calling
- One setting that commonly breaks call recording sync is Wi-Fi Calling. If this is turned on, recordings may not be created correctly by your phone.
- Go to your phone Settings and search for Wi-Fi Calling. If it is enabled, turn it off. This ensures that all your calls go through your SIM network and get recorded as expected.
- And that's it — your Samsung phone is now fully configured to sync call recordings into telecrm.
From this point on, every incoming and outgoing call will be recorded by your Samsung Dialer and automatically attached to the corresponding lead inside telecrm — giving you and your team complete visibility into every conversation.
