Setting up Lead-IQ

Setting up Lead-IQ

Imagine your team has been working on a lead for a while, but the client still hasn't converted. What if telecrm could suggest your next steps, or help you shape the right negotiation pitch for a call or WhatsApp message?

Or picture a lead that's already converted. You want to understand the entire journey verdict and see which strategies helped your rep close the deal. All of this is possible with Lead-IQ, which summarizes your lead's complete Activity history based on prompts you define and turns it into actionable insights. In this video, we'll show you how it works.

Let's learn the steps to set up Lead-IQ

Section 1 — Request Access

  1. Open your telecrm web application and go to the All Leads page.
  2. Open any lead to get started, then look for the option to request access.
  3. Click on the Lead-IQ option in the action bar.
  4. telecrm will prompt you to copy a ready-made email body. This email is your request to us to enable the Lead-IQ functionality on your workspace.
  5. Send the email. Your request will be reviewed and accepted within a maximum of 2 business days.
  6. Once your request is approved and access is granted, you can move on to setting up Lead-IQ.

Section 2 — Connect Your AI Provider

  1. Now let's go through the post-access setup. On the web app, navigate to Settings and click on Configuration under the AI section.
  2. The first thing to do here is add your API key. This key is generated from your preferred AI provider — OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic (Claude) — depending on which one you choose.
  3. Next, select the AI model. Our recommended choice is 4o-mini.
  4. Paste the API key from your selected AI account into the field.

Section 3 — Define Your Sales Playbook

  1. To define your prompts, click on the Sales Playbook option under the setup section.
  2. Set up the Voice & Style section, where you select the language in which your summary or output should be generated.
  3. Lead-IQ gives you two ways to define your prompts. The quickest is uploading a PDF that describes the following five areas:
  • Who you can sell to — your ideal customer profile. Define their industry and sub-industry (for B2B), or the niche or segment (for B2C). This powers the Risk, Buyer Type, and Negotiation outputs.
  • Product features — the core features of your product or offering.
  • Pricing — your detailed product pricing, used to generate negotiation-related actionable outcomes.
  • Objection handling — the typical concerns, problem statements, questions, or pain points your customers raise, along with the ideal responses. This helps evaluate how well your agent handled objections.
  • Competitors — your top competitors in the same industry or niche, with their differentiators and similarities. Lead-IQ uses this to flag any risk factors involved.

4. All five persona sections should be listed in the PDF. You can download the sample to see the format. There's no rigid structure — if you'd like to skip any of the five sections, you can.

5. Click Choose File and upload your PDF. All your inputs will be filled into their respective sections automatically.

6. Alternatively, if you'd prefer, you can feed the inputs directly into each section one by one.

Section 4 — Create Your Lead-IQ Agent

  1. Click on the Lead-IQ option and enable the toggle to activate Lead-IQ for this workspace. This creates your own Lead-IQ agent.
  2. Describe the instructions or SOP for your agent — what it should keep in mind while generating output. This could be the minimum lead-timeline details to include, certain lead fields or actions to ignore, or any specific SOPs you want it to follow.
  3. Click Save Prompt.

Section 5 — Configure Call-IQ (Optional)

  1. Now for an interesting part — the Call-IQ section lets you summarize your old, unsummarized call recordings. Enable the toggle, then click on the Call-IQ Analyzer to select the Call-IQ agent that should process those old recordings.

Section 6 — Set Access Control

  1. In the Access Control section, decide which user roles can access Lead-IQ. By default, only Root and Admin can view and generate Lead-IQ. Other roles get visibility access only, but you can enable Generate access for any role that needs it.

Section 7 — Review the Output

  1. Let's quickly review the output from your newly added AI. Open any lead, click Lead-IQ in the action bar, and click Generate Brief.
  2. You'll now see the Verdict — a summary of the lead timeline — along with other insights, including the Facts (factual information about the lead), a suggested next call script, a suggested next WhatsApp message, the risk factor involved, things to avoid, a negotiation pitch suggestion, the overall next actionable item, and the buyer type.

And that's all you need to understand on how you set up Lead-IQ in telecrm.

Once it's up and running, your AI agent reads through each lead's journey and hands you exactly what you need — a clear verdict, the key facts, your next call script, a ready WhatsApp message, the risks to watch, a negotiation pitch, and the next best action to take. It's like having a sales strategist reviewing every lead for you.
