Meta Business Verification

Meta Business Verification

Before you set up your WhatsApp Cloud API, there is one foundation that everything is built on.

Your Meta Business Manager Account.

Think of it as your central command centre for all your Meta assets. Your Instagram Account, your Facebook Pages, your Ad Account, your WhatsApp Account — everything sits under one roof inside your Meta Business Portfolio.

And when it comes to WhatsApp Cloud API, this is the only place where the integration happens. Not on your personal Facebook. Not anywhere else. Only inside your verified Meta Business Portfolio.

That is exactly why the verification of this portfolio is not optional — it is mandatory. Without a verified and active Meta Business Manager account, the WhatsApp Cloud API Daily Messaging Limit will not increase beyond its default limit of 250 per day conversations.

In this video, we'll help you understand what the Meta Business Manager is, why it is so crucial, and what you need to know before getting started with the WhatsApp Cloud API integration in telecrm.

SECTION 1: How to Access Meta Business Manager

1. Open a new browser tab and go to business.facebook.com

2. Click on Continue with Facebook and log in using your Facebook Email ID and Password.

3. Once logged in, your Facebook Business page will open. Scroll down to the bottom of the left menu bar and click on Settings.

4. Click on Business Info.

5. ⚠️ Important — Check Verification Status First

Before doing anything else, check if your portfolio is already verified.

If the Business Verification Status shows "Verified" — great news. You can skip the verification steps and proceed directly with the WhatsApp Cloud API integration.

If the status shows "Unverified," follow the steps in Section 2 to get it verified.

6. Now review your Business Information. If any details need to be updated, click on Edit and make the necessary changes. The fields you can update are —

  • Legal Business Name
  • Business Registered Address
  • Business Phone Number (any number associated with your business)
  • Website URL
  • Tax ID (you may enter your GST Number or Udyam Registration Number)

Once all edits are done, click Save.

7. ⚠️ Important — Verify Your Website URL

After saving, click on your Website URL and confirm that it opens correctly.

If it does not open, go back and correct the URL.

Make sure the website is live and in HTTPS format. An incorrect or non-HTTPS URL will cause issues during the verification process

SECTION 2: How to Verify Your Meta Business Manager

1. On the same Business Info page — click on View Details.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the Verification section.

⚠️ Important Note — If the Verification section does not appear here, it means you need to complete the WhatsApp Cloud API integration first. This is because Meta requires a connected app before it allows the verification process to begin. Once the integration is done, come back to this page, and the "Start Verification" option will appear.

3. Click on Start Verification and then click Get Started.

4. Select your Country and click Next.

5. Select your Business Type and click Next.

6. Enter your GST Number and Business Name.

⚠️ Important — If your registered legal business name is different from the display name you want to show on your WhatsApp API number, add the desired display name under the "Alternative Business Name" section. This is a commonly missed step, so pay close attention here.

Click Next.

7. Review your Business Address and click Next.

8. Verify your SIM Number and Website URL and click Next.

9. Meta will ask for a dual confirmation — check both boxes and proceed.

If Your Business IS Already Listed with Meta

10. If your business is already listed, Meta will give you an option to choose your preferred OTP verification method.

11. Cross-check your Business Name, Address, and Email ID displayed on screen and select your preferred verification option.

12. Click Next and review all your details one final time.

13. Select your OTP verification medium. The most recommended method, as defined by Meta, is Email; however, you can choose your preferred option.

14. Enter the email address shown in the masked suggestion box and click on Send Email.

15. You will receive an OTP on that email ID. Enter the OTP on the page that opens and click Save.

16. Your verification request has now been successfully submitted to Meta.

If Your Business is NOT Listed with Meta

17. If your business does not appear in the list, click on "My Business Isn't Listed" and click Next.

18. Now select your Verification Method —

  • If you have added your GST Number, the recommended option is Email for verifying your business domain.
  • If you have added your Udyam Registration Number, you may choose Phone Call, SMS, or WhatsApp as your verification method.

⚠️ Make sure the phone number used matches the one registered on your Udyam Registration.

19. On the next step, select the relevant document name from the list and upload the document for business name verification.

20. Next — verify your phone number or business address by selecting and uploading another relevant document from the available options. You can also use the same document for both name and number verification if applicable.

21. Click Next.

22. Enter the email address shown in the masked suggestion box and click on Send Email.

23. Enter the OTP received on that email ID on the page that opens and click Save.

24. Your verification request has now been successfully submitted to Meta.

And that's all you need to know about accessing and verifying your Meta Business Manager for the WhatsApp Cloud API integration.

Whether your business is already listed with Meta or not, the process is straightforward as long as your details are accurate, your website is live, and your documents are in order.

A verified Meta Business Portfolio is your foundation. Get it verified once, and your WhatsApp Cloud API integration is ready to roll.
